ONE TO GET YOU TALKING

A beach.
A burning sea.
A story that won’t go away.

Shingle Street is one of Suffolk’s most talked-about wartime mysteries. We explore the story, the rumours and the questions that still surround it.

THE TWO BLOKES BEHIND THE CAMERA

We went down
a history
rabbit hole.

Then we thought you might fancy coming with us.

We’re Lee and Gary. We’re not historians—we’re two blokes who love a good story, especially when it happened just down the road.

History Down the Pub explores Suffolk and East Anglia through the people, places and tales that make you stop and think. Sometimes it’s unsettling. Sometimes it’s moving. There’s usually something to laugh about along the way.

We head out to the locations, dig into the stories and bring you along. No exams at the end. Just something worth talking about.
